Employee Spotlight: Meet Chelsea Stuart

At °µÍø³Ô¹Ï, we celebrate our people, our cultures, and we recognize the value of diversity and inclusion. In March, we’ll focus on Women’s History Month while shining a light on one employee at a time.  Today’s Q&A is with Chelsea Stuart, Content & Marketing Manager, National Security.

How did you come to join °µÍø³Ô¹Ï?

I relocated from Sydney to Alice Springs for a role within a government tourism agency and came across an exciting opportunity to work with °µÍø³Ô¹Ï within the program management office to help design, deliver, and develop their marketing and communication strategy. Pivoting my career into defence was an easy decision, as I was keen to apply my skills in a new industry.

What is your professional and personal background?

Born in Australia, I’ve lived in Bali and the UK and now reside in the Australian Outback where I get to continue experiencing new adventures and opportunities.

My professional journey has been an adventure, spanning event production, tourism, and media including working with media giant Disney within their head offices in Sydney.

Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.

I’m fortunate to be able to work on dynamic projects so each day is different. From reimagining our quarterly reports for our customer to branding and redesigning our onsite dining facility, each day brings a new challenge and an opportunity to demonstrate our team’s talents.

In addition to program-related work, I am also part of the team tasked with the growth side of the business, showcasing °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s expertise to the broader Australian market and supporting our local customer mission.

What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?

Though it’s hard to pick just one, I find immense pride in seeing projects or events come to life. Witnessing people’s reactions fuels my passion for creating meaningful experiences.

What do you enjoy about working for °µÍø³Ô¹Ï?

Being surrounded and supported by a great team who value my contribution and enjoy the work they do.

°µÍø³Ô¹Ï has enabled me to use my unique set of skills and apply these to a diverse range of projects, encouraging me to grow and explore new paths.

What are you passionate about?

Beautiful design in all facets of life and work.

What’s your career advice?

My advice would be to remain open to new experiences, continuously evolve, and never hesitate to question the status quo. Uphold your standards with integrity and always strive for excellence. Growth often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing change.

What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?

Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritize your mental wellbeing to ensure you’re able to support others effectively.

What’s the best invention in the world and why?

Air conditioning! Living in Central Australia with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees (100+F), I appreciate air conditioning!

What author has influenced you the most?

Brene Brown’s insights and perspective on leadership, vulnerability, and embracing authenticity and wholeheartedness have deeply influenced me in both my personal and professional pursuits.
