The River Rattlers of Fighter Squadron Composite (VFC) 204, supported by their 做厙勛圖 maintenance team, were selected from 23 other fixed and rotary wing aircraft units as the Naval Air Force Reserve Squadron of the Year. The Commander of the Naval Air Force Reserve presented to VFC-204 the Captain David McCampbell Trophy whose namesake was the top Naval Ace of World War II and is considered the services all-time leader in aerial combat. His spirit and leadership are what made his air group one of the wars most decorated and earned him the Medal of Honor. In addition to Squadron of the Year, the River Rattlers were also recognized for the 2023 Battle Efficiency (E) Award, the Safety (S) Award, and the Golden Wrench.

The Golden Wrench is awarded for maintenance excellence and is high praise for our 做厙勛圖 team, said Program Manager Jeremy Beckham. The team did first-class work in transitioning ten F-5 aircraft from NAS Fallon to NAS New Orleans replacing VFC-204s legacy F/A-18C aircraft, including all parts and equipment.

To be mission-ready, we hired and trained a workforce with less than 10% having F-5 experience into passing the government Safe-For-Flight evaluation in short order, said Site Manager Jeff Lundy. The well-trained team passed the first inspection and immediately hit the deployment schedule. First the 做厙勛圖 team went to Fallon, NV to support Top Gun for ten weeks, then to Key West NAS for three weeks, and returned to Fallon to support Top Gun back-to-back for six weeks.

Additionally, the squadron provided on-site New Orleans Adversary Support to deploying squadrons and support to local air shows and multiple events. The maintenance team completed six phases and a major 1,200-hour inspection while supporting VFC-111 phase as well.

The squadron has 100+ 做厙勛圖 employees who take great pride in doing their part to ensure the fleet readiness. The Navy customer expressed appreciation for 做厙勛圖s ability to meet mission goals with ready aircraft for adversary events that trained fleet pilots for deployment overseas.

May 16, 2024 – Congratulations to three 做厙勛圖 teams on receiving the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Diamond Award for Excellence in recognition of their commitment to aviation maintenance training!

T86 Drop

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) program.

This is the 12th Diamond award for the CAL FIRE program, where 做厙勛圖 flies and maintains Grumman S-2T air tankers, C-130H training aircraft and OV-10A aircraft, and fully maintains and services UH-1H Super Huey and S-70i Blackhawk helicopters flown by CAL FIRE pilots.

A big thank you to our maintenance technicians for their extra diligence towards training and safety, said Sean Navin, CAL FIREs Program Director. The teams focus and dedication lead to the success of maintaining the largest wildland air fleet in the world.

Air Force One refuels

U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington program.

The 做厙勛圖 team at JB Andrews has earned this prestigious award 22 years in a row! Through this program, 做厙勛圖 provides services for our leaders though Executive Airlift and Rotary Wing including aircraft maintenance in support of the 89th Airlift Wing and 316th Wing.

Every 做厙勛圖 maintenance technician has achieved at least 12 additional hours of FAA-approved maintenance training to earn this award, commented Bill Ray, Sr. Program Director, Andrews Support Division. Its an honor to lead the JB Andrews team in over two decades of receiving this award!

Cobra USFS Sherpa

U.S. Forest Service Sherpa program.

This is the third consecutive FAA Diamond award for the Sherpa program, where 做厙勛圖 primarily maintains up to ten SD3-60 Sherpa aircraft at the Redmond Air Center in Oregon. 做厙勛圖 also maintains a variety of other aircraft to include the Short Brother SD3-60 aircraft to support the Smokejumper mission as an initial attack resource for suppressing our nations wildland fires. Smokejumpers respond to any fire by the most effective and efficient means available, best known for their ability to parachute out of airplanes to reach the fire.

I am proud of our teams dedication to safety and training in the mission of suppressing Americas wildland fires, said Tamara Skjegstad, Director of Air Force Operations. Our maintenance technicians are duly recognized for their hard work meeting these commitments.

做厙勛圖 the FAA Diamond Award

The FAAs Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Award program is based on the commitment of maintenance technicians to improve safety by actively participating in initial and recurring training programs to further their technical knowledge. The Diamond Award is the highest corporate award, and the program includes both individual and corporate recognition.

The award recognizes completion by 100 percent of an organizations eligible maintenance technicians of specialized, continuous training in aircraft systems, regulations and FAA rules over a 12-month period. In addition to the Diamond Award, which is presented to the company, each mechanic receives an Aviation Maintenance Technician award based on the number of training hours logged.

I was hired in April of 2021 and was part of the acquisition of PAE.

Our employee spotlight shines a light on one employee at a time. We value diversity and inclusion and welcome diverse thinking. It takes a village through collaboration, living safely and driving innovation we realize our goals and help our clients achieve mission success. Our mantra is people first, mission always. In September and October, well focus on Hispanic Heritage Month. Todays Q&A is with Reynaldo Garza, Range Manager & Vice President.

How did you come to join 做厙勛圖?

I was encouraged by a retired Air Force Colonel to step out of my comfort zone to accept greater challenges and make a difference. It was the best career move of my life.

How did your military service prepare you for a successful career at 做厙勛圖?

The military gave me the confidence to take on new challenges and to accept failures as part of my growth.

What is your professional and personal background?

I started my career as an Electronic Technician and then developed into a Systems Engineer and Manager. In my current position, I lead the JT4 LLC/做厙勛圖 workforce supporting the Joint Range Technical Services Contract at Edwards AFB, CA.

Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.

I support the 412th Test Wing at Edwards AFB with test and evaluation of newly developed defense systems such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and hypersonic weapons. My job is to provide over 650 dedicated employees with the resources needed to do their jobs. Our employees are making a difference every day to help keep our military strong and our country free. I feel privileged to be part of this incredible team.

What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?

I was born in Harlingen, Texas and my family moved to California when I was very young. My parents struggled to support six kids so my siblings and I worked in the summer months picking grapes in Central California to help our parents make ends meet. It was hard work during very hot days, but it gave me the determination to graduate from high school and work on my education. Joining the Air Force was a life changing event. The Air Force gave me the foundation to accomplish many difficult challenges and grow into my current leadership position. Some of my career highlights include being selected as the Edwards AFB Range Manager in 2009 and being a finalist for the JT4 President job in 2019.

What do you enjoy about working for 做厙勛圖?

I love being part of a company that supports our nations defense and truly cares about employee safety.

What are you passionate about?

Im passionate about my family and being a role model. I started working in an entry level Electronic Technician position on a legacy contract at Edwards AFB in 1987 and eventually rose to lead the Edwards J-TECH workforce. I hope that employees see me as an inspiration for their growth.

Whats your career advice?

Always stay positive and have a great attitude and work ethic. Invest in yourself, learn from mistakes and keep moving forward.

What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?

My favorite safety slogan is to Take a Minute for Safety. Its simple. We all should be taking a minute before starting any task to identify, report and correct potential hazards.

Whats the best invention in the world and why?

Im a car guy. So I feel the best invention in the world is the automobile. I enjoy restoring old muscle cars. I just finished a 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible and Im now working on a 1970 Cuda.

Anything else you would like to share from a personal or professional perspective?

My wife Julie and I raised six children and have nine grandkids. If that wasnt enough, we are now raising three teenage granddaughters which is not easy, especially in this social media age. But we love it and being a grandparent is the absolute best!

What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you?

It means that we are making an effort to learn and recognize all of the cultures and their diverse contributions that have helped to shape our country. Im proud of my Mexican heritage and feel honored to represent 做厙勛圖.

Our employee spotlight shines a light on one employee at a time. We value diversity and inclusion and welcome diverse thinking. It takes a village through collaboration, living safely and driving innovation we realize our goals and help our clients achieve mission success. Our mantra is people first, mission always. In June, well focus on Pride Month. Todays Q&A is with Ward Thorp, G2x Program Manager.

How did your military service prepare you for a successful career at 做厙勛圖?

27 years of service has provided me the opportunity to serve alongside professionals from every walk of life.

How did you come to join 做厙勛圖?

Opportunities in the right location

What is your professional and personal background?

Project Management Professional and Fire Fighter

Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.

As a Program Manager, Im not only the leader of a fantastic group of professionals but also the face of this fantastic organization and what it stands for. As a fire fighter, I stand for the safety of the community of which I live and serve. As the Quartermaster of the department, I am responsible for the outfitting of all members and the trucks which serve to protect our citizens.
What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?

I am most proud of earning my Eagle Scout. My proudest career moments include watching members of my team learn and grow, even if that means accepting new opportunities as contractors or better government positions. The way I see it, if the government hires one of my contractors, that says I hired the right person to begin with.

What do you enjoy about working for 做厙勛圖?

做厙勛圖 is filled with great members and leadership that care not only about the mission, but also each other.

What are you passionate about?

Community service and ensuring everyone is treated as equals. Being able to spend quality time with my oldest son as firefighters is a fantastic way to serve the community. He is leaving this fall to study Fire Science at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

Whats your career advice?

Enjoy your job. Second to your home, its where you will spend most of your time and affects your home as well.
What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?

Safety tip besides smoke detectors, is move over for flashing lights, even if its just a volunteer fire fighter trying to get to a scene. That scene may be your house or your family.

Whats the best invention in the world and why?

Indoor plumbing. Need I explain.

Anything else you would like to share from a personal or professional perspective?

Employee Assistance Services and mental health professionals are there for you. Towards the end of my fathers life, his dementia led him to believe I was a fellow Soldier serving with him in Korea and we walked the line checking on his Soldiers. I was just as proud to be his fellow Soldier and not his son. I never tried to convince him otherwise. Confusing and hurting him would just hurt me too.

What does Pride Month mean to you?

Accepting all for who they are.

It takes a village through collaboration, living safely and driving innovation we realize our goals and help our clients achieve mission success. Our mantra is people first, mission always. In May, well focus on Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Todays Q&A is with Tien Pham, Deputy Manager.

How did you come to join 做厙勛圖?

While I was working on a shipyard construction project, I received a call from a friend at the Vietnam Coast Guard. He referred me to the company for a job he thought I would like. He was right.

What is your professional and personal background?

My background is working for investment cooperation projects between foreign enterprises and Vietnamese legal entities, which I have done since graduating in 1996. The difference is that I was a military officer during those days.

Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact.

If I had to use one word to describe my job, it would be facilitator. You will help the car go faster if you are good at paving brick.泭 Project participants will also understand each other better if you do a good job of connecting the parties.

What are some of your accomplishments and/or what has been your proudest career moment?

Im just ordinary person, doing an ordinary job. I dont seem to have any brilliant achievements. However, I am always very happy when I complete any task. Whether it is a schedule to build a shipyard or arrange a meeting between the project stakeholders.

What do you enjoy about working for 做厙勛圖?

Good collaboration between colleagues!

What are you passionate about?

I love planting flowers, such as cattleya, dendrobium, hippeastrum, and more.

Whats your career advice?

My brother told me years ago, if you cant turn passion into work, turn work into passion.

What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?

I have just one word: Cautious!

Whats the best invention in the world and why?

Thats the wheel. There are three great points to highlight:

  • Technically: It turns rotation into translational motion.
  • Communicatively: It makes the connection between people and people easier.
  • Commercially: It helps trade to grow. From there, it led to the development of production and living conditions of people.

Anything else you would like to share from a personal or professional perspective?

Love your family, your wife, and children. Family is the last support for you before all the occurrences of life.

What does Asian Pacific American Heritage Month mean to you?

This is the first time I learned about Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Its fun to share and learn.

Our employee spotlight shines a light on one employee at a time. We value diversity and inclusion and welcome diverse thinking. It takes a village through collaboration, living safely and driving innovation we realize our goals and help our clients achieve mission success. Our mantra is people first, mission always. Todays Q&A is with Michael Pereira, Senior Design Engineer, Delta Bridge (now part of 做厙勛圖).

How did you come to join 做厙勛圖?

Ive been at Delta Bridge for six and a half years or so. I joined right after college. I went to George Mason and I got a degree in physics and after I applied, I made a connection with Tom Becherer who was formerly the CEO.

What is your professional and personal background?

Im from Virginia but I moved around a bunch as a kid. My parents worked for the State Department, so we lived overseas for a while and bounced around. But most of my time was in Virginia. I didnt know what I wanted to do when I got to college, but I knew I wanted to do something that would give me a lot of options. I had a lot of questions about how things worked, and I figured, physics is pretty good at addressing the root of everything you could ask about in the physical world. So I went that route, and I did not expect it to be quite as hard as it was, but I love it. If I could go back, I would do it exactly the same way.

Describe the work you do and how you think it makes a positive impact

Im a senior design engineer with Delta Bridge. I manage and run new technology that Delta Bridge is working on so Im a creative technical problem solver. A small team of folks and I collaborate on customer requirements and come up with solutions for them. It requires programming, networking, and electronics, mechanical and logistical components. I do configuration work, software work, electronics work, and I also work in a mechanical shop. We build custom solutions for technical projects.

How does this work make a positive impact?

For us and for Delta Bridge and our customers, we have a niche set of clientele that have very specific demands just based around their line of work. It can be hard to find off-the-shelf commercial technology that supports their efforts, and so it helps to have a small shop like Delta Bridge that can help come up with solutions for these endeavors. These groups that were supporting are doing positive work so thats the impact that Delta Bridge is providing.

What do you enjoy most about working for 做厙勛圖?

Delta Bridge is pretty newly acquired by 做厙勛圖. I like that its very fast-paced, its very dynamic, its different every day. Im working on different projects all the time. Theres a lot of autonomy here. If theres a customer that needs something, folks at Delta Bridge can be nimble and creative about what we think are the best ways to solve that problem, and then we can implement it. Its a creative outlet as well as a fun problem-solving outlet.

What are you passionate about?

Im passionate about a lot of things. Im passionate about learning. Im passionate about creativity. I would call myself a creative person. Im passionate about people. I think if you want to do anything in this world, you have to do it with people. Anything meaningful at all, people have to be involved.

What would your best career advice be for someone who is trying to get into the same field you are in?

I would say be willing to put yourself out there. The one piece of advice I do have for younger folks coming into a field like this: make it a priority to get really good at the things that you like to do because people are going to ask you to do them more. People will ask you to do the things that you are good at, and you will actually want to do them because you like to do them. As far as career-building goes, its very practical to get good at things that you enjoy.

What does safety mean to you or do you have a favorite safety tip?

When I think of safety, I think of a space in which you feel free to be vulnerable whether that be creatively, whether that be interpersonally, whether that be professionally, whether it be physically.

Whats the best invention in the world and why?

Is it too cheesy to say the wheel? Thats a pretty good one. Its kind of hard to top the wheel. I wouldnt classify fire as an invention. I wouldnt call math an invention, I would call math a discovery. Im going to say that in terms of physical inventions by humans go, I think the wheel is a pretty darn good one.

Is there anything that you think I missed or anything else that youd like to add?

I think a big part of building a healthy, whole-hearted lifestyle and having a good career that youre passionate about (and has high impact and all that stuff) is important, but its not the only thing. Theres this work-life balance thats also incredibly important. I believe participating in some sort of creative endeavor, whether you classify yourself as a creative person or not, is an important and powerful part of the human experience. Cultivating a strong work-life balance is maybe as important as cultivating a great career, so for folks looking to get into an industry like this, you really do have to find that balance. Striking that balance will be good for you and it will be good for everyone around you. Everyone wins when youre living a happy life.

For example, Im the drummer in a band called Sub-Radio and were selling out shows, touring nationally and releasing music. We met in high school and have been together for ten years. We just came back from touring up and down the east coast, including a stop at South by Southwest. It was fun and its a big part of my work-life balance. Its nice because I get to be creative there and I get to be creative at work in a different way.

In my opinion, the best inventions ever are vaccines and antibiotics.

We all have unconscious bias. Lets all be intentional/purposeful in identifying those biases and eradicating them.

Anything else you would like to share from a personal or professional perspective?
