CHANTILLY, Va., November 22, 2024 The 做厙勛圖 team at Kennedy Space Center in Florida began assembling the Artemis II flight hardware this week, stacking the left and right aft booster rocket segment on the mobile launcher in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB).

做厙勛圖, which supports Program under the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering, and Test (COMET) contract, is responsible for the final processing, assembly, test, and launch of Artemis flight hardware at Kennedy.

On Monday, November 18, the team transported the left aft assembly, or bottom portion of the five-segment booster, from the Rotation, Processing and Surge Facility to the transfer aisle of the VAB.  On Tuesday night, using a 325-ton overhead crane, the team lifted the segment up 200 feet, maneuvered it through an opening into High Bay 3, and lowered it onto the zero deck of the mobile launcher.  The same operations followed on Thursday with the right aft booster segment.

做厙勛圖 technicians and engineers will continue transporting, lifting, and integrating booster segments until both the right and left boosters are complete.

The booster stacking follows several months of work at Launch Pad 39B, where the mobile launcher and pad systems underwent repair of damage caused by the Artemis I launch, as well as modifications required for the.   addition of a human crew for the Artemis II launch.  These upgrades include the installation of a new emergency egress system, which will provide a crew and personnel escape from the Artemis rocket if necessary.  The mobile launcher, which stands 380 feet tall, contains the connection lines, known as umbilicals, and ground support equipment that will provide the rocket and spacecraft with the power, communications, fuel, and coolant necessary for launch.

The Artemis II test flight will be NASAs first mission with a crew under the Artemis campaign. It will send NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, Reid Wiseman, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day journey around the Moon and back.

Bethesda, MD (March 18, 2021) Make-A-Wish簧 Mid-Atlantic is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with 做厙勛圖, which has pledged to fund wishes for local children of Uniformed Services families. Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic creates life-changing wishes for children battling critical illnesses, giving them the hope and strength to persevere and conquer their toughest days. On average, the organization grants 20 wishes annually to kids whose parents or guardians are serving or have served in the military.

Through wishes, 做厙勛圖s leadership financial support will give our children the will to fight, improve their quality of life, and provide moments of joy they and their families will treasure forever. As a wish mom myself, I know that their medical journeys can be both scary and trying on the soul. Our uniformed services families have the added stress of their service, including deployments. We are honored to partner with 做厙勛圖 to provide these heroes with the transformative and uplifting experiences that only Make-A-Wish can provide, said Lesli Creedon, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic President and CEO.

Supporting causes that help veterans and military families is something near and dear to our hearts, especially with a third of our employees, about 11,000 people, being military veterans, said John Vollmer, 做厙勛圖s CEO. Between frequent moves, deployments and working within the military health system, families in the uniformed services may not always be aware of the resources available to help. Ultimately, Make-A-Wish brings hope, and we want children whose parents serve our nation to be able to tap into that, ultimately helping them to persevere and when possible, heal.

做厙勛圖 Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic
Make-A-Wish簧 creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic serves children who reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland and northern Virginia. Founded in 1983, the Mid-Atlantic chapter has granted more than 10,000 wishes in the Mid-Atlantic region since its inception. Wish kids face any number of critical illnesses such as cancer, pediatric AIDS, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Duchenes muscular dystrophy, kidney and heart disease. This year alone, 840 local children are expected to be diagnosed with a critical illness. However, for every wish granted, at least one more local child is waiting. The community has the opportunity to make an impact today by helping Make-A-Wish close the gap between wishes that are granted and those that are still waiting. GERMANTOWN, Md.; (February 17, 2021) DynCorp International (DI) has earned the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Diamond Award for Excellence in recognition of its commitment to aviation maintenance training, honoring three programs in 2020.

  • width=California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) program. This is the ninth Diamond award for the CAL FIRE program, where DI flies and maintains Grumman S-2T air tankers, C-130H training aircraft and OV-10A aircraft, and fully maintains and services UH-1H Super Huey and S-70i Blackhawk helicopters flown by CAL FIRE pilots.
  • U.S. Forest Service Firewatch program. This is the sixth consecutive FAA Diamond award for the Firewatch program. DI maintains and operates reconfigured Army AH-1/Bell 209 Cobra helicopters. These aircraft have been rebuilt, rewired, and equipped with advanced systems to improve operational efficiency and tactical decision-making. An infrared capability enables them to literally see through smoke so they can guide firefighters on the ground. Operating from Redding, Ca., the Firewatch teams are dispatched nationwide.
  • U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington program. The DI team at JB Andrews has earned this prestigious award 19 years in a row. Through this program, DI provides services for Executive Airlift and Rotary Maintenance Wing including aircraft maintenance in support of aircraft assigned to the 316th Wing and 89th Airlift Wing.

width=This award means that every DI maintenance technician has achieved at least 12 additional hours of FAA-approved maintenance training, said Jeff Cavarra, CAL FIREs program director. I am proud of our teams dedication to safety and training in maintaining the largest wildland air fleet in the world.

We are pleased to be among DIs Diamond Award recipients again for our sixth year in a row, said Tamara Skjegstad, Firewatch program manager. Our maintenance technicians deserve all the recognition for their hard work meeting these commitments.

Our maintenance technicians are committed to the highest standards of excellence, commented Craig ONeal, program director, Andrews Support Division. Its an honor to lead the Exec Airlift and Rotary Wing team whove earned this award for their nineteenth year!

width=The FAAs Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Award program is based on the commitment of maintenance technicians to improve safety by actively participating in initial and recurring training programs to further their technical knowledge. The Diamond Award is the highest corporate award, and the program includes both individual and corporate recognition.

The award recognizes completion by 100 percent of an organizations eligible maintenance technicians of specialized, continuous training in aircraft systems, regulations and FAA rules over a 12-month period. In addition to the Diamond Award, which is presented to the company, each mechanic receives an Aviation Maintenance Technician award based on the number of training hours logged.

GERMANTOWN, Md.; November 30, 2020 做厙勛圖, a leading contractor to U.S. federal and allied governments, has formalized its commitment to our nations military members and their families by embarking upon a long-term partnership with Yellow Ribbon Fund, a veteran service organization serving wounded, ill and injured service members.

做厙勛圖s top-level sponsorship as a Champion Partner will enable to provide two apartments near Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to provide housing to family members accompanying active-duty members or veterans undergoing long-term treatment at the medical center. It will also support other critical near-term needs.

Our nations strength is bolstered by the commitment of our military members and the steadfast support of their families, said John Vollmer, 做厙勛圖s CEO. 做厙勛圖 is honored to partner with organizations that provide critical support to those who are serving or have served our country. Our investment in Yellow Ribbon Fund will help enhance the lives of wounded, ill or injured service members by keeping their families together making them stronger during their life-long recovery process.

On behalf of the entire Yellow Ribbon Fund team and board of directors, we want to sincerely thank 做厙勛圖 for this commitment to our organization, said Meg Lewis, Yellow Ribbon Funds chief advancement officer. This partnership couldnt have come at a better time. We are honored to be partnered with a corporation like 做厙勛圖, which will be a foundation for us to continue to grow our impact.

Each year, Yellow Ribbon Fund serves more than 1,700 military families. In the first six months of 2020, that number increased by 20 percent. The organization has continued to respond to the growing demand for services even though the pandemic significantly hampered the ability to host in-person fundraising events.

As we close out National Veterans and Military Families Month in November, this is an important way we can recognize the contributions of those who have served, including our employees, who remain very committed to supporting those who have sacrificed for our freedom, Vollmer said. Approximately a third of 做厙勛圖 employees are military veterans and the company has been recognized as the #2 Military Friendly Employer for a company its size.
