Mark Whitney

President, Energy and Environment

Mark is President of the °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Energy & Environment business, a 9,000 employee organization that delivers engineering, consulting, project integration and technology solutions to clients in over 20 countries. From the world’s greatest environmental challenges to the global energy transition and the threats faced by the U.S. and allied governments, this business is focused on addressing key global energy, environmental, and security issues.

Previously, Mark served in other executive roles for °µÍø³Ô¹Ï, including President of the National Security Business Group.  Prior to joining °µÍø³Ô¹Ï, he was the Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Nuclear & Environment Strategic Business Unit at AECOM.

Mark has held a number of senior executive service roles within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration, most recently as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for DOE’s Office of Environmental Management. Other positions include acting Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management, Manager of the DOE Oak Ridge Environmental Management Office, acting Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation, and Assistant Deputy Administrator for Nonproliferation and International Security. Mark also served four years in the U.S. Embassy in Moscow as the Executive Director of the DOE Office.

Mark serves on a number of commercial and non-profit boards including the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (Chair), the FermiForward, LLC, the Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC, and the Energy Facility Contractors Group (Vice Chair).  He is a recipient of the Presidential Meritorious Rank Award and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Eastern Kentucky University and an MBA from George Washington University.
